How to make Dal Makhani

Dal Makhani is one of the very famous recipe of India. It is eaten by making hobbies in North India. It is very much liked in the state of Punjab and Dal Makhani is easily available in restaurants and dhabas. Just like the rest of the dal, making dal makhani is a little different. It takes a little more time to make it, but everyone likes the taste that comes while eating it.

The main ingredients to make it are butter and cream. Rest of the ingredients are easily available in our kitchen. You have to soak the urad and rajma in water for a night before making this recipe. Then in the morning you can make dal makhani according to the method mentioned.

Whole urad 100 grams
Rajma 25 grams
1 onion (finely chopped)
Green chili – 2
Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
Tomato puree 1 bowl
butter 1 tbsp
fresh cream 1 bowl
cumin 1 tsp
cinnamon 2 pieces
cloves 8-10
bay leaf 1
Green cardamom 4-5
Red chili powder 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder 1 tsp
green coriander a little
salt to taste

Way

To make Dal Makhani, first soak Urad and Rajma in water for a night. Now on the second day, put rajma, lentils, salt as per taste and 2 glasses of water in the cooker and boil it till 6-7 whistles come. When the lentils have become soft, then beat the dal with a spoon. Now heat one tablespoon of butter in a pan.

Now add cumin, cloves, cardamom, cinnamon and bay leaves and fry for half a minute. Now add green chili and ginger garlic paste and fry for 1 minute on medium flame. Now add chopped onion and cook till it turns brown. When onion turns brown in color, add tomato puri and cook it by adding salt, turmeric and chili powder, mixing well. (If you have to eat lentils with rice, then make simple toovar dal)

When the spices leave the oil, then add a bowl of water according to the boiled dal and gravy. Now cook on low flame for 5 minutes. Now reduce the gas and add cream and mix it with a spoon. Let it cook for 10 minutes on low flame. After the stipulated time, add green coriander and mix it with a spoon and turn off the gas.

Dal Makhani is ready to serve. Pour a little cream over it and serve hot, with roti, paratha or rice to family members and enjoy eating to the fullest. (If you make urad dal like this, everyone will say and put it)
